Try merge your scene with an empty one... I had a similar problem a few
months ago and I seem to remember that did fix it... Give it a go.

Hi,
I have a really huge problem, because xsi doesn´t update the explorer.
I create groups and they don´t appear in the explorer.
After saveing and reopening the scene everything is in the explorer ( group
apears), Also if i parent some nodes to another, the note doesn´t appear
under the parent.
So is it only on my machine or has somebody else the same problems with xsi
So what the ... It dammed sucks to save and reopen scenes to see something
