I'll happily column up the columnist:
"Our feisty columnist has some advice for Hollywood studio executives"
which to me reads "Our random person with the standard equipment, one arsehole and one opinion about everything, who's never in his life seen a 450 mills turnaround operation, is now gonna spew some BS for you angry readers to feast on"
"Why did you make me sit through “Barnyard,” a movie where a bull with a milk-heavy udder played a guitar and sang Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down?” And why was I expected to take that scene seriously for even one second?"
to which my reply can only be "you dolt, you obviously ARE NOT supposed to take this seriously"
"And why did my four-year-old and nine-year-old nieces willingly walk out of that movie with their mother, unconcerned with how it all ended?"
Because you are probably educating two uptight morons like you are, and I can't be angry enough at thinking that my sons/daughter will have to endure another generation of critics spawned by righteous twats like you.
"I don’t think you have an answer for that last question, studio pals, so I would like to be your guide in the wilderness."
The autho here has clear reminiscences of his past life as Virgilio guiding Dante after the dark wilderness to the gates of hell.
I wish he could have stayed in purgatory instead of reincarnating into this internet abusing angry man.
"First, you have to stop releasing animated features for about a year. Twelve months. Don’t shut down production. Don’t lay anyone off. Just take your time with whatever is coming down the pipeline. Obviously you haven’t been doing that lately"
Thought about this one long and hard (a whopping 12 seconds), and I just can't find something stupid enough to match this comment.
No matter what tools I try, sarcasm, slapstick, hello kitty vibrators, this is just beyond the thin film that separates reality from absolute twatness.
If we want to discuss the flood of animated features beased on animals (which I don't remember as such a negative thing when Disney was releasing Dumo, Aristocats, Bambi, Robin Hood, Lion King, or any of the other 20 talking animals masterpieces of storytelling) so be it, but please, at least lets start it from something with more substance then an article where an angry idiot without a clue goes and shits on everything, proposing as the only possible solution to world famine and cancer that nothing is release for a year while people have a good think about stuff (possibly without firing anyone).

“Barnyard” and “Doogal” are mentioned, among others. :-\
