Hi
While choosing your mainboard be aware of via chip problem. Many of new
via south bridges like vt8251 are supported only in fc6 can't remeber the
first supported kernel. I know you run Fedora and there is no information
on what next version of xsi will run. There are custom drivers and kernel
patches and you may need ide drive to install first to get sata running,
so it is complicated.
Cheers,
Mikko

Looking at the preliminary test results for the new nvidia 8800gtx I
would
be very tempted by that, even if its not quadro. Seems like a monster of
a
card, and will be interesting to find out how it performs with 3d apps,
or
non-windows software...

Get a DirectX10 compliant chip, if possible.
I guess youÂre biased towards Linux but in
case you ever want a Vista, thatÂs be a good idea.
Nvidia just announced a new 88xx something Geforce,
the Quadro should be available accordingly.
