Hello Tim,
Thanks for the criticism:) This is all about taste indeed except maybe the AO being
too exagerated. My equation was, if i want to show the bright areas I will burn the
shadows and vice versa. The last thing I wanted was to have a nice feel of a sunny
day on it like a gorillaz clip. Hopefully my next short will express that in a more
professional way lol.
Adrian, How are you man??? Long time no see. Hows that crazy australian JD+Coke
Drinker???
Thaks a lot man:) Lets have some lunch soon eh?
Cheers guys
Mario

Hi Mario,
great story you guys picked, the music plays well with it too.
I hope you don´t mind if I crit the look a bit, thought.
Depends alot on the individual tastes and displaysettings
of course but I still think it´s worth mentioning the option.
Imho it´s too saturated and the colors aren´t blending enough,
e.g. the scenes are pushed too harsh in contrast, there´s a
slight bit too much AO multiplied in and a slight bit of tint missing.
(in a color picked and dialed in that helps the mood of each scene).
The bloom effect (AE?) is a nice and tempting way to push colors
and saturation but generally works better when masked with the
luminance of the sourcelayer (as input) to preserve more detail.
To give you a better idea what I mean, have a look at using
"bleach pass" if you like, best example lately being "Payback"
with Mel Gibson, got instantly reminded of that film through
the use of the music - setting things into a 52-66 NY feel/grind.
Again, imho - based solely one my viewing experience, not a trained eye...
Cheers
tim

Subject: The Joy Kinematics - Short Movie Debut
Hello List,
Just wanted to show you all my first short movie. Done entirelly in XSI over a period
of ~8 months. Andrew Hutchison animated the character and Luiz Elias helped me with
feet and ears modelling on the character. all the rest done by me.
Additional tools are Digital Fusion, Photoshop and adobe premiere.
This version is with the sound totally off-synch because of a mistake in exporting
the audio. Ill replace this version with the right one soon:)
