Please NO pelt mapping, it is already an old feature I would prefer to have:

I was looking for something along the lines of 'new particle system' as I
was reading the press release.
Unfortunately it's not there, but fortunately most of the other things I
dreamed about are! It looks like a huge release and lot of hard work.

There are some things that still appear missing, such as abilitiy to blend
deformers in a non-additive manner, usable quick stretch, pelt mapping, new
poly tools w/ true symmetrical modeling, and the particle system, but in a
nutshell I think a lot of us got what they've been asking for. It also looks
(from the FAQ) that SI is listening to the customers very closely.

Cheers and thanks for the early Christmas present.

Luke

I think the focusing on Python is very promising.

To those who are for some reason, disappointed by the feature list, I
suggest you wait until the final feature list is released.  The new feature
list is usually pretty large.

Playback speed has also been given a significant revamp in this build also.

Wow, Christmas time is coming! :-)

Is that 14megapoly warrior running on normal graphics hardware or does one
need special gear?

Now it looks as if it is time to dive into C# finally :-)

I'm looking forward to the full story!

Thanks for the image links Marc-Andre.

Cheers,

Thomas Helzle

However, XSI 6 has a completely revamped Dopesheet and many new
ususability enhancements in the Animation Editor in general.   On top of
this, it introduced new animation concepts which are in the screenshots but
apparently not the text of the press release...
