I had this a lot,
Cannot figure out if it had to do with some stuff in my scenes.
But it helped to export my scene as model and import it in a fresh scene (
but it only solves the problem for a while.
Maybe it is the graficcard ?? ( i´m running a nvidia geforce 6800)

Regars
