Thanks guys,

nice explosion Marc-Andre. Buying this shader seems like a no-brainer, even more so as it seems xsi 6 is still going to be minus any kind of decent particle shaders.

Hi Matt,

I just sent you a little explosion I created not long ago. It’s not working properly at the end, you see there is some kind of shrinking of the fractal going on when the particles disappear but I’m trying to fix that.

BA Volume Cloud is very fast. You can tweak a lot to improve its speed too. It might not be obvious at first because there is lots of parameters but by tearing apart the example scenes that Holger has put on the site you get a good picture of what can be done.

BA Volume is a very good tool and not costly at all. It comes with great support via the BA Forum.

Take care,

MAC

Quick! We rendered tons of this stuff.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the link. Do you remember what the average render times were like
for that effect?

Here's a test for a nice fluffy cloud look we used quite extensively on a
kids show. Took a while to get the desired result and had some slight
glitches during renders, which were fixed by re-rendering the individual
frames, but overall it's well worth buying. This effect used particles which
worked a treat!

Hi all,

well I've been pulling my hair out trying to get some Hyper Voxel type
particle renders out of xsi, ( We all know how easy that is.) And for
some reason I'm getting nasty black rings around the particles I'm
rendering with Genie tail, so now I'm looking at buying the xsi volume
shader pack from Binary alchemy. There doesn't seem to be any movies
of particle effects rendered with the shader on the website so I
thought I'd check with the list and ask if anyone has a movie online
somewhere that I can check out that used the shader. And just ask for
any advice in terms of using the shaders, what are the limitations? What

should I not expect it to do very well?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, m(at)
