Anyone have any thoughts about renderman’s ray tracing at all? Is it reasonably fast these days?

We recently moved more to Maya because we decided to go Renderman way, so I am very interested too when it comes to using Renderman and XSI together. I would like to know - is Affogato able to render XSis Fur?

And to comment on my experience with Renderman compliant renderers. I have tested only the Pixars renderer and 3Delight with Maya.  They are very fast when it comes to rendering things like lots of Fur, Displacement, Motioblur. They are lets say well integrated, but not as artist friendly like MentalRay in XSI or Maya. But for me its to early to say final word.

Looking forward to hear about your experiences.

Francesco.
