if you edit the _expression_ for the link with you can swap the onject ref names and it will keep the animation:
 

l_fcv( l_mouthcorner_CTRL.kine.local.posx )

to 
 

l_fcv( r_mouthcorner_CTRL.kine.local.posx )


works ok here.

In Maya, you could go into the hypergraph and reconnect the bits. Can
