Hi,
some time ago I asked here for help with NURBS triangulation errors.
Now I finally have the go from the designer of the watch to show the result if you are interested:

Hoover over the image to turn on the light :-)
I ended up converting the main body to polygons because I wasn't able to convince XSI/MR to render the NURBS-objects properly.
The neoprene strap I had to re-model in polys anyway to be able to bend it.
The Metal is using the TS2 material shader (I love it), the water droplets too. I "modeled" them with Michele Sandronis metaball plugin (which is really awesome! Thank you Michele!) It is very helpful for illustrations that it is poly-based, so you can play with the sliders until you like the result and then just copy the current mesh to a new object and play some more with the parameters to create a library of variations.
Several design changes and customer driven scene variations together with days of trying to get the NURBS from different CAD apps imported properly into XSI made this job much less straight forward than it may look now...
Maybe XSI 7 can get an improved NURBS implementation? Or was that planned for XSI 8? ;-)
Thanks again for all the help from this list!
Cheers,
Thomas
