As far as I know, Zbrush's cavity maps are grayscale images to be piped to a mixer to be mixed with a color or texture node, then into the color input on a material.  Not to be used with AO.  AO uses geometry and lights to determine a solution.  Zbrush has already done that - in a different sort of way.
