I've been on it all day , on linux , doing mainly rendertree and renderregion kind of stuffs
and it only hangs once at the end of a rendermap.for no reason ...
the rendermap was ok on disc but I had to kill XSI bruteforce.

otherwise it was a good experience.
mr3.5 looks really great , setting rendering options is now a very complex science !!!

still some graphics glitches , just at the limit of being annoying ... :(

Strange, we just used 6 on a fairly complex character spot, and it was flawless - we also made extensive use of delta referencing, a few third party plugins - and it never crashed once. Don't get me wrong, we were nervous about using 6 so soon out of the pipe, but we had no problems - and character sets made things so much easier.

    Hello List,

*in case this posting arrives twice, my apologies*

i just sum up my short experience with xsi6 from one day. this wont
sond nice, mainly because i didn not reach the point where i could
    make
use of the new features and improvements. i am also way to much under
pressure to investigate into each problem i encountered right now,
because deadlines are looming. so i am continuing production with 5.11
xsi 5.11 runs rock solid on the same machine i installed V6.

    1. crashes,
i got suprised by about 10 crashes in one day. most of them, out of
the blue. most annoying where that it crashed while saving scenes (no
usable files where left, but at least the old file did not got
destroyed) or exporting models. both kind of crashes are ugly,
because they hit you exactly when you did your work and leave you with
nothing. i didnt do any specialized stuff. no rendering, no shaders.
just organzizing a master scene into different shots.
render region crashed on me twice.
it crashed on me while defining a new screen layout.

    2.characters.
i got a character that was built and rigged in 5.11.
that one loads fine in xsi6 but, after saving and reloading in v6 it
generates all kind of weird effects. mostly it gives me some problems
while loading the v6 saved file and performs a "cleanup".
the result is a destroyed rig.
usually it looses the connection of the control curves to
shapeweights. or gives funny results when using them, like exploding
the head when it just should move the eyebrow up. again, everything
worked when the character was in v6 first time.
so i loaded the character in v6 first, set up CKsets and such and
exportet as an v6 model. still the same behaviour.

    3. animation editor.
seems i have to learn it new. but one thing that seemed really
    strange
was that when i wanna move the right handles of a key(s) and want to
move them to screen right, i have to move the mouse to screen left.

    3. explorer
simple thing, i wanted to rename couple objects. suddenly it behaved
weird, didnt let me select new objects. then it did. but didnt renamed
them any more. f2 didnt worked any more. there was one object, wheni
clicked it i got instantly a cursor in the name field, as if i had
pressed f2, but i didnt. enter stopped working and the viewports
    where
inactive. reloading the scene didnt fix it, restarting xsi did fix it.

i will take some time after i finished the project in v5 to investigate and maybe file some bugreports. btw, as some others noted, the webform doesnt show v6 yet.

ciao
franky
