It is a bit more complex than this.
You already have coordinates sticked to each particle or global to the whole
cloud. But for some projects I always wanted something else. A texture, which is
moving with the particles, but continuing from one particle to the next.
This way you could add some advanced detail without creating some complex
particle simulations...

It is an animation of multiple particles, but the texture continues from one
particle to the next. But beside this interesting look, you cannot texture it
somehow else...
I am developing a different texture method at the moment, which could give you
some smoke fluid look, but if that is not working, it is just not possible.
