hey guys,

that´s a great set of links you provided!

I´ve been doing some nice (but quite challenging)
3D elements for seamless integration into stills last year
and am now asked about my opinion wether there´s
much of an alternative to the Spheron Camera tools
(you buy support, get used to shoot two full dome 32bit
w/26 stop captures from a location and use a custom app
to derive spatial relationships but not much more of value).

So, some sort of Photogrammetry tool or even a
rugged scanning/meshing device could also become
an interesting alternative as long as it outwheights
multiple location renting and would ultimatively
allow 90°-360° freedom without too much manual input
(at least for the artdirectable layouts) in close realtime.

I´ll definitely suggest "registering" the fixed lenses to grids while
the guys go through all those f-stops for the realworld lightsources
anyway. Seems one could even get pretty close with a custom
NURBS surface mapped with 32bit footage whose Isoparms are
morphed via blendshaped (according to the real lens´ distorted grid).
Would give good visual feedback while keeping bitdepths intact.
(as long as you don´t use a Maya surfaceshader or AA filters...).

Worth a test. Thanks again for the inspiration. Keep it coming!

Cheers

tim

Can you guys recommend a workflow or range of
products geared towards identifiying, editing and

I´m looking for both the adding and removing
of such effects and would also welcome any
links geared towards POV reconstruction
based on limited sourceinput available.

E.g. Retrieving all sorts of valuable data from "drive by shootings"...

http://www.ssontech.com/ldtsumm.htm http://www.thepixelfarm.co.uk/products/products.aspx?PID=1

Both of those work pretty well. One is $39US. The other is 100Pounds
Sterling (~$193US)

But you would be amazed at how often you don't need to worry about it, or
can fake it with a grid warp, etc. But when you need it, you really need
it.
