I agree. XSInet would be the best place to put all the tools people
write if we could easily search in there. Being able to submit a tool
under many categories at once (like the articles on xsi-blog.com) and a
good search engine that can search the content of the help files within
the addons would make it rock!

I think xsi_net needs an overhaul.
I honestly prefered the old one, more categories and did not mirror
the xsi ui modules as much, but the old net was WAY more
reponsive/faster and easier to find stuff.
It was fun to share on the old one, but the new one has stuff in the
wrong categories, with no cross relations so impossible to finds o its
not ass worth posting as peopl never find your tools anyway and end up
emailing you directly.
Sorry I know the guys put some real effort into making xsi_net better
but IMHO its not good yet...
Hey Kris I kept lots of the stuff until about a year ago too, I'll
look when I get back from the police station for that tool for you, I
very likely have it.

Yeah, its frustrating for sure. I've tried to keep a massive
library of
just about every script, shader or addon ever posted. The
xsi_loscope
unfortunately I no longer have...must have not backed that one
up. What
I find particularly annoying is that you have four major sources for
these tools: XSI net, XSI Base, user/studio websites and this list
server. Problem is that you often find one thing on one site that you
won't find anywhere else. I thought the purpose of the XSI net was to
have all the tools the community put of for grabs available at one
place. I guess its tough to enforce it and make everyone put any tool
they make public on one site but it sure would make things
easier. One
of these days, I'll try to post all my tools I've collected over the
years on my website, many of which can no longer be found on the web.

everyone really could be out to get me. Maybe I just have bad
'net karma.
