Hi Ben,
I've always been curious about using XSI as an archtectural tool.
The thing that I envision is having the capability to add custom
parameters which would have the cost of the material/object (or use the
ability of tying XSI to a sql datbase that would have inventory
information, so you could design it, render it and also make a good
estimate on cost of materials.
Then having a finite element analysis plugin that you could actually test
your buildings.
All in one package... an architectural pipeline.
Cheers,
RSM

hi all,
have been inactive on this list for a while (due to my employer being a non
XSI shop, at the moment).
hope all is well!
i have a question from a friend of mine and would like some thoughts...
they are looking for architectural viz software, something not too hard to
make work, especially in the photorealistic rendering section.
i tending towards viz, but XSI may not be completely out of the question...
what else is there that i'm not aware of?
plus, to make things more fun, they want water sim, for fountains and such.
the water is rather important, and i can't think of any app that
supports water sims out of the box. any ideas on plugins/standalone software
that would integrate well with off the shelf 3d apps and
doesn't need an engineering degree to use?
cheers all! really appreciated!
