Could you animate them back to passive at an appropriate point in the animation?

Subject: spinning balls - rigid body weirdness

Folks,

We've got about 3 dozen pingpong ball type RB's falling into an invisible passive rigid body so they accumulate into a shape.  This all works fine.  The problem is, after the balls come to rest positionally, they all keep spinning.  We've messed with the static and dynamic friction of both the balls and the vessel and nothing seems to stop it.

Anyone have any ideas?
