wonderful

Lucky you :-) Based on your repro steps, I actually reproed it in a debugger and know what the problem is. This should probably solve a lot of connect/disconnect problems people have been having.

Rest assured, we're working on an update/service pack, which we'll be releasing soon. Can't give any dates yet though.

We have two very different machines at Eclipse producing the same crash.
I'll take another look tomorrow.

Thanks

I haven't been able to reproduce it here.

Are we the only ones having a problem with this?

ok:-
With no shaderballs or region, It didn't bomb. I could plug and unplug
zbump from the material no problems.
With no shaderballs, but *with* a render region on the sphere, it did bomb.

Sounds like you've got a handle on it, but just to be clear, I just compiled with the new SDK today. The version posted on my webpage is compiled with the prior SDK. Again, I don't know if this will make any difference.BenThanks Ben,We're pretty sure that's the version we're using. I'm trying to pin down the exact setup that's causing this. At the moment I think that shaderballs are contributing. I also have a feeling that a texture that's plugged into zbump and also through the material surface could be playing a part as well.I'll let you know.ChrisBen Rogall wrote:> > Hi Chris, I haven't noticed that behavior. XSI.With the script editor open, if I unplug zbump from the material node, I get about 200 identical warnings:-//Warning : PHEN 0.4 warn 052004: shader sib_bump_basic called in incorrect scope root attempted to access its interfaceIf connecting this up again, I get about 1000 identical warnings, and / or XSI bombs.Anyone else seeing this?ThanksChris>>
