Just stumbled into this thread, fbx import / export taken care of from
the Softimage side is a highly welcome move; both, Alias and Autodesk
were / are pretty unreliable when it comes to supporting new versions of
XSI. Very very happy with this development!!
Cheers!

Those links are for an "early access" version of the plug-in that you
can download and use "as is".
No new functionality is included. The plugin is a recompiled version
of the 5.0 FBX plug-in.

I don't think the FBX plugin for 5 works for 6. You will probably
have to download the new one.

Softimage sent us these links when we were having similar problems
with the plugin. These updated plugins worked for us in 6. Good luck.

I have a job where a Maya artist(v7 on a Mac) needs to send me
his camera move and a little geometry. It looks like they don't
have a dotXSI export plugin for Mac on the Softimage site, so
we're looking at either Collada or FBX. I tried to install the
FBX addon in XSI 6.0 but it never shows up in the menu. Does the
5.0 addon not work in 6? Would I be better sticking to Collada or
would FBX be the best for this situation?
Thanks for any insight...
