Hi guys,
I´ve a mesh I export as *.obj file, create a UVset
in an external app on (Maya 8) and re-import to XSI.
Now when I try to copy&paste the new UVset back
onto the original geometry (the one exported as *.obj)
from the re-imported mapped *.obj back into XSI,
I get a garbled result. It looks as if there´s a random
number of polybisectors or vertices that get shuffled,
e.g. the "transfered" UVset is recognizable but useless.
A glance at the UVset of the re-imported *.obj file
doesn´t show this, it´s only on paste onto the original
object this happens...
Also, if I export the geometry that´s supposed to get
a UVset pasted on as *.obj and re-import _both files,
the externally mapped UVser source and that target,
I can paste UVsets without a problem?
I know, this is pretty special stuff but I still hope
this can at least be verified or worked around
in terms of set-up.
Pretty much everything I do revolves around
transfering geometry between apps for the
sake of using a given special functionality
not available in the source/host app.
Cheers
tim
