A collegue of mine has been playing with fotomodeler,
I myself tried the Maya>Realviz MMTrack plugin and
got useable results out of (purposedly) unknown footage.
Boiling this down, I´d figure your best bet is to lend the
camera and lesnes a day and shoot the gridpatterns you
need for distortioncorrection plus some free movement,
fixed pans and such on a visually rich location to *extract*
a closely matching camera without too much effort before shoot...
