Title: Re: Vista and XSI?
Let’s start defining the whole thing, iTunes is selling, not renting, therefore I am the owner of the track as I would be the owner of a book and I can do anything I want with it.

About $10 not being necessary, I completely disagree, I would buy music only because I can’t find it anywhere else and I do want to have it forever on my library. What is convenient is the random access to it and of course, the minim space that in places like London where a square meter so expensive it does make a lot of sense to go fully digital.

Portability is the big factor if it does not compromise the main library of course, and all this DRM only does is exactly that, it compromises our property treating it as if it was some sort of illegal thing to carry your own music on your own Player.

The rest of the lawyer and corporate talk I am not accepting.

The idea with the iTunes music store is that you pay less for the album and you get it immediately, it's convenient.  It's not 10$ necessary to own something for the rest of your life. What's 10$ anyway.

Also this is at least one advantage to DRM, it's renting movies and music, like subscription music services which Apple is rumoured to offer in the future.  It allows you rent music with a flat fee per month, so you can try at your convenience all sorts of artists and albums you would not normally give a shot to, including new artists.
