There is an issue with Rendermap and installations of both, XSI 5 and XSI 6. Don't know about the technical details, but they appear to overwrite each other's registry entries or something along this line. The result being that only one Rendermap can work, either the one of v5 or v6, the other one just does not render anything. You can enable one or the other by opening a Softimage shell and executing this command:

RUNONCE

This will register all the bits and pieces of the XSI version the shell belongs to. This bug is logged and repro at Softimage, so I guess it will be fixed for the point release.

Hope that helps, cheers!

Hello everyone,
I'm having problems with rendermap on a v5.0 here... I setup the
properties, hit regenerate maps but nothing happens. It doesn't
happen all the time, but quite often...and I still haven't figured
why it works on some objects and not on others.
Anyone know how to go around this ?
Cheers
Alex.
