Subject : photon maps in 6... regions and render ops
in versions prior to 6, I was able to see the map files for gi and fg.

I could designate a folder to hold the map file info, and pass the fg or gi I had built up in my region to the render.

Now, unless I'm missing a switch or setting in 6.0, I find I can't control where the map files are stored, and even more perplexing I can't even see the generated map files.

I have a feeling that its just a matter of getting used to the new interface, but its beginning to drive me mad...

Anyone running into the same initial frustrations?

I've also found inconsistencies between passing information back and forth between the region and the render ops.

In 5.1 and earlier, copy render ops from region worked smoothly... now it semi -works.. Some of the info like aliasing, optimization etc. gets passed, but things like GI and FG settings don't..

Again, chalk it up to just getting used to the fact that renderer settings are shared initially, until you make them local on a per pass basis, but until I figure out the new workflow I feel like I'm on the edge of going postal...

anyone?

thanks all

Adam
