you can access the individual layers with an fxtree node.
but as a rule of thumb i would say avoid them for all but throw away quick exploratory work.

It appears after looking, that once they are loaded, using that “maximize compatibility” function in Photoshop, that it’s just loads the top, composite node.

 

Anyone have any hard evidence of this?
