Kris, do you store poses for your character at its reset point?
I love the flexibility of mixer actions either internal to scene or referenced. I generally store based on keyable parameters, or using the new store based on character key set, but have found a few hiccups with character key sets that I have yet to nail down.

I just keep them in my sources folder and call them up using apply action.

The rule of thumb for reset actor is if you've applied any constraints to your base skeleton, forget about reset actor, unless you cheat it and make the constraint objects deformers as well. Go with stored actions.
