Subject : surface effectors in XSI - marquees
I have to create a 'marquee' type effect - the usual running lights thing.  In Lightwave, I would have used Surface Effectors running along a path.  For those who dont know, Lightwave's Surface Effectors are material attributes that are tied to a null, and affects any surfaces within a given radius of the null.  Pretty straightforward.  You can apply displacements as well as color, bump, specularity or luminosity attributes to another surface this way.

I'm sure in XSI we can create something similar in the RenderTree, but I need some guidance.  Has anyone found another effective way to create marquees in XSI?
