Thanks for the suggestion Wayne I'll give that a try. I still think it
must be possible however to apply the contour shader to a specific
object, because the shader has a check button for including all scene
models.

Perhaps break the countour into a new pass. Create a partition with
objects that you dont want to have the countour on and assign them a
constant to matte them out.

Subject: output shader question
I'm trying to make planet atmosphere effect where the glow will be
brightest at the edge of the planet (where the normals are at or near
90 degrees to the camera) I tried using the 2d_contour output shader
and the result is not to bad. The problem is that all of the objects
in the scene have the contour assigned to them instead of just the
planet. I unchecked the 'use all models' button in the contour
shader, but then the contour doesn't work at all. Can anyone tell me
how I can localize an output shader to specific models?
cheers,
Karl.
