The stupid thing is I'm pretty sure the middle mouse button delay is in
the hardware on the MS mice.
I
have one of these and even on OS X with no custom drivers installed the delay is
still there. Sucks for 3D because you need to hold the middle mouse button down
for close to a second before it registers a middle click.
I'm sure they did this to
eliminate accidental middle clicks while using the wheel feature but
unfortunately it makes it useless as a 3 button mouse. Seems silly that they
decided to do this in hardware rather than in the softyware driver too.
Too bad
because I really liked the ergonomics of the actual mouse.

lol, i actually got another to see if it was a bad egg. the second
still had the same problem which really pissed me off. so i sent microsoft a
message about this. at the very least this should be pref i can change, its
responsiveness shouldn't be limited like that.
anyways i hope you enjoy
the suggestion. take a look at other logitech mice, they are pretty solid on all
models.
