Ahem, I'm pleased to announce that I'm a satisfied owner of a Logicool MX610.
He he. Thanks all for the feedback. I already have three~four of SGI mouses,
just that they're not in use, they're crawling somewhere in my storage room.

most places have return policies on devices. compusa has a decent one. use your power as a consumer!

How would you return it? Just say, "it stinks! I want a new one."?
I'm pretty much decided with Logicool.

ya the ergo was nice, that is why i picked it up when i was at the store. normally i would only buy a mouse i knew was good from experience. that time i just bought it for the feel from the demo they had in the store

The stupid thing is I'm pretty sure the middle mouse button delay is in the hardware on the MS mice.

I have one of these and even on OS X with no custom drivers installed the delay is still there. Sucks for 3D because you need to hold the middle mouse button down for close to a second before it registers a middle click.

I'm sure they did this to eliminate accidental middle clicks while using the wheel feature but unfortunately it makes it useless as a 3 button mouse. Seems silly that they decided to do this in hardware rather than in the softyware driver too. Too bad because I really liked the ergonomics of the actual mouse.

Cheers!

lol, i actually got another to see if it was a bad egg. the second still had the same problem which really pissed me off. so i sent microsoft a message about this. at the very least this should be pref i can change, its responsiveness shouldn't be limited like that.

anyways i hope you enjoy the suggestion. take a look at other logitech mice, they are pretty solid on all models.

ya, i returned that for the exact same reason. very very bad for any middle clicking operations.

i have this...

only gripe is the middle mouse button is a little narrower than i would like
