but MR recalculates FG points in all the scene for each frame even
with folloff on... right?  when v-ray is only recalculating the area
within those predefined zone´s.
this way MR is more likely to be slower as its always calculating
everything again, hence more flickering.

You have a similar features in MR but nobody use it.
Falloff parameter in FG tabs.

If you ask me it s way more flexible than attaching a influence zone ( except if you don' t have to attach it of course. )

You reduce flickering, speed up calculation and got a better ( and then more accurate ) distribution of FG rays with only one extra parameter.
