writing fg maps or gi maps in 6.01

Subject : writing fg maps or gi maps in 6.01

Hey all, I haven't had a chance to see if the fg map or gi map creation has been fixed with 6.01.. a colleague of mine is convinced it is still broken... can anyone confirm this?
