Stefan,
I'm not in position to give you production experience of it, and will not gain it in few weeks. I got it running straight away. Used vlc to play, flipbook don't play audio as far as I know. Scrubbing in vlc is not a pleasure. I would aswell like to hear if there is trouble with linux audio captures in long run. Cause it works and worked also in 5.11 Diego is your best source. What I can say I had alot trouble with capture before 5.x

Diego,
What sort of trouble you were having in 5.11? Simple things I did were fine.

Back to fixing rigs...

We will test the trial here in a few weeks when things have calmed
down a bit. I just wanted to hear what other animators that uses linux
here thought about it (and if it works well or is a pain in the butt).
As I said, doing captures/playblasts is what animators do all day
long. So it must work well or they will be frustrated and for me....
that means that their first hands on with XSI will be a pain :) Many
weeks to go though, and perhaps there is a RnD thing that also can be
done.

Hi Stefan
On 6.01 (Ess) works for me. I depend much getting over 10 fps realtime
also. Just extract the openquicktime4 codecs and lib to
/usr/Softimage/XSI_6.01/Application/bin.

Audio formats are it's own jungle, so test first on 6.01 trial, if there
is one. Must say you scared me for a while. Let me know if you are in
trouble with it, so I'll check the audio files details.
