Honestly, unless you need some very clean (and not blurred) reflections you will never tell the difference between an optically perfect multi-hundred dollar chrome ball and a $25 gazing ball. Try it out. At the rate these things get dropped, banged up, etc. on set, and in luggage we much prefer to use the cheapies. I think I have had one shoot where I sued the "good" one, and it was overkill.
