With the 3ds format being 'old', and it's legal content belonging to Autodesk, I would be surprised if there would be a 64bit version released any time soom. There are more convenient formats these days, and I use Deep Exploration or Polytrans most of the time anyway to convert models. There are even some freeware converters out there that do a pretty good job too.

To avoid switching machines you can also install XSI 32bit parallel to the 64bit version on the same machine.

Why on earth did Softimage take out "Import 3ds" in XSI 64bit?
You just can't find it in 64 bit!
Luckily I have a 32bit and a 64bit PC. Unluckily I have to go through
extra processes.
Why is it unplugged?

TIA,
Eriya
