yes it has.
I think it started as all floating licenses in XSI, with no distinction for 
OS. (other than the type of protection - dongle on win versus mac adress on 
irix)
but the licenses could be checked out on any platform, regardless of what 
the server was on.

At one point they changed to an cross OS floating version (win/irix/linux) 
called "enterprise" and a OS specific node locked version, called 
"workstation"
You needed to specify which os at purchasing time - and it did change quite 
a bit on the pricing for a single license, 20 or so percent I think.
This existed for both adv and ess. All old licenses automatically became 
floating ones.

not sure if that is still the situation though.
