Out of curiosity, what other kind of problems did you encounter exactly?
Last week I tried exporting a simple FK character using collada to maya and I couldn't get anything to work. I wasted half a day trying to isolate the problem. Sometimes the exporter would just hang, sometimes the maya importer would just crash when loading the file in.
When I finally accepted the fact that I was not up to the task, I tried with dotXSI and the whole thing went through like a walk in the park.
I have very little experience with exporters in general... I'm sure collada is a good support but perhaps it's being capricious or the xsi exporter is broken?

Hi,
Today I tested put a normalmap on a low polygon object (generated from
ultimapper) it all works fine but when I use crosswalk (XSI
6.01) and
export the object (using Collada 1.4.1) the normalmap wont be assigned
to any parameter in my output file. The texture reference is included
but its not connected to anything.
Is there someway to solve this? Im sorry to say but so far the Collada
exporting from XSI has been a bit disappointing (as there are several
other issues that even sample scenes included with the program doesn't
work as expected (like the dancer)
Thanks.
