Hello again. If you've read my previous question about delta referencing
and copy/paste animation, you know it doesn't work. Well, constraints
don't work either. We are going to miss a deadline now because we moved
to 6.01 a few weeks back.
We have a character with multiple arms, and soe props it needs to
interact with. So we set up some constraints on the hands and the props.
For some reason the constraints are really laggy, not viewport speed
laggy, but the hand object lags behind the animation, like it has a
loose constraint. Then when we reload the scene, some constraints are
offset, and need to be zeroed out so they line up again.
Also, randomly, some constraints will have animation that was deleted
long ago pasted back on them. Magically it seems. It's so random and
different for each scene. Our animators have wasted so much time with
these issues that we are reverting back to 5.11 indefinitely. once this
project is done (we are going to miss our deadline).
We are going to send in some bug reports, and hopefully some scenes, but
how does anyone get work done with 6.01 and delta reference? How is it
possible that this was tested at all before release? We aren't doing
anything crazy with our characters, at least nothing that wasn't working
fine in 5.11.
Sorry for the long email, but I am wondering why we pay for maintenance
when we haven't had a usable upgrade in a year. 5.11 was mostly great,
the 6 series not so much.
