Referenced models renderoptions?

Subject : Referenced models renderoptions?

I was sort of hoping I could work with lowres RefModels and have the scene render with highres RefModels without going through all RefModels, change resolution and save the scene with everything visible - like seeing lowres ones in OGL and rendering highres ones when opening renderregion. I can't se a way to do this and docs didn't reveal a way either. Is this just not possible or is there a workaround I have missed?
