Actually, thinking about it, Tinythickness could be used to do this on an
open extrude. Have you tried it?

In fact if they were profile driven this would allow me to create a
shape directly onto the end of the extrusion and would eliminate my
current need to constrain an object on the end of the extrusion. In my
case I'm trying to build an arrow head on the extruded end. If the
arrow
head were a cap generated from a profile, and if the cap could also
deform with the curve, this would be even better than what I'm trying
to
create. I could see a lot of uses for this.

If anyone's worked out a way to modify or create clusters from within
an op,
I'd really appreciate it. It's a handy thing to be able to do with
tools
like this.
