Hi Kim,

Though it probably doesn't qualify as a *good* example, I quickly
wrapped up a (real) dummy self_installing custom operator.

Just select a bunch of geometries, click on the command (it's in
Modify-->PolyMesh), It connects the dummy operator to the geometries.

The connection is done in lmSimpleOpMenu.cpp

Let me know if it puts you on the right track, or if you need
something more specific.

I'm on Linux, you might have to recompile it for Windows.
