Now I have found a problem with another instance
master. When exporting a modelpart with many instances XSI fails and says there
is an object with an invalid parent. How the h*ll can a model parent become
invalid? I wonder if there are no-no's with instances I dont know
about...

Subject: Instance problem
I have a model with loads of instances. All of a
sudden when unhiding part of it I have weird behavior (XSI6.01) where the
master geometry is offset from its Model Parent, and geometry is unselectable
in the viewport. All of its instances is subsequently also offset. I can go
back to an earlier version of the scene where this Master and its instances
are in the right positions, but this master has what appears a copy with which
it has a weird relationship - in the Schematic view the two geometries are
linked so the one master geometry is parent to the child geometry of the copy
master. When I try and delete the copy the instances are gone - the master and
its copy has identical instance groups.
It looks like a bug and I expect to try and clean
it up and get it off to support - I would just like to hear if anyone has run
in to something similar and can offer some tips on ways to solve it. All I can
think of is find the non instanced parts in an older scene, reinstance them
and import in to the scene with the bad master/instances.
Best regards
