I came to a temporary conclusion that XP64 and XP32 has
something to do with it, also.
One thing about your summary, it's Dual Dual Core 1.86
where the one's Dual Quad Core 2.66Ghz
Simple addition would make 7.44Ghz(1.86x4) vs.
21.28Ghz(2.66x8).
Though this is not at all accurate, the draft
idea?

OT: unofficial benchmark of note
I was doing a render last night on a couple of our newer machines.
The render times caught my eye and I though I would share them.
Two
machines rendering the same scene:
Dell 490- Dual Quad Core 2.66GHZ 4GB RAM
WinXP64
Dell 690- Dual Dual Core 1.86GHZ 3GB RAM WinXP32
The quad
core was rendering 4 frames to every one frame of the dual core. Both of those
setups are still available to purchase if you were setting up a system with
Dell. I need to do some further testing but it seems that the Quad Core is
unbelievably faster than the Dual Core. I'm not sure if this is interesting to
anyone or not, take it as it is...
