Thanks to everyone's input. On a couple of jobs we find it very handy to be able to render completed frames with DOF in XSI v5.11 and X-DOF.
We will take a look at  all the suggestions. I will forward these e-mail to Evasion and see if we get anywhere, but I know others in the past had pesters them without success.

I like Lenscare - I recommended it for Sin City while at Hybride (and their support was *very* good), but I don't think it gives as good results as X-DOF.
I've banged on enough about the problems with X-DOF both here and on XSI Base - can someone at least make sure a copy of this thread gets sent to Evasion 3D. You never know they might just fix it...

cheers

Xdof still suffers from the same problems as doing it in post, AA
issues at the focus area etc (it's not 3d dof). So I would say doing
it in post is your best bet anyway, where at least you don't have to
rerender you 'beaty' passes when you're not happy with the results.

Haven't tried Dof Pro, but if you use After Effects (works with Fusion
too) you can use Frischluft Lenscare. It's great, and as far I can see
it does everything that Dof Pro does. Using such a plugin in a
compositing app like AE or Fusion is more useful than in Photoshop for
most people, I would guess.
