Personally I would stick to Sorensen3 for now, it's light and has decent coloring. The H.264 codec is linked to QT7, and not all people have updated to the new player yet. I didn't as it does nasty things in my AfterEffects6 for example, just to name one.....

Oh, and there's nothing more annoying than a missing codec or being forced to install an updated player ;-)

So, who uses what QT format for the best results? What's the flavour of the month?

 

Recently we've had some people saying Motion JPEG-A is the way to go & others saying "OH no, don't do dat!".

We used to be happy with Sorenson3 'till Motion JPEG-A was brought up.

Or is it H.261, 263 or 264 that gives the best result?

 

There are bound to be sliding scales but what good balances have been found for colour accuracy & size.
