OK, stuck that into an event and it seems to work with one exception:
when you have the option "View Selected Parameters(9)" (icon S and a slope) in the Animation Editor turned on >> keys dont get deselected
other than that it works allright...
nice tip Sean, thanx Philipp

Its not a pref - in fact it was an unwanted side effect introduced in v6 which has been corrected.
In the meantime have you tried using the 'DeselectAllKeys' command?

yes, but WITHIN that command/event [i would guess "file>prefs>selection>on selection change command" and an event [siOnSelectionChange] are pretty much the same thing] I'd like to deselect all FCurve-Keys (so that they are deselected in the Animation Editor)...XSI seems to remember which keys where selected for each individual object (is this new in v6?) or is it a pref even? cant find it...

file>prefs>selection>on selection change command?
just a guess. not sure if it will work in the animation editor context

Would it be possible to set the selectionstate via scripting, too (for FCurve-Keys)? the docs only say something about GETTING the selectionstate...
(We have an animator here, who'd prefer to have evey key deselected when selecting a different object - so I thought I could get there with an event [siOnSelectionChange] and deselect all keys, but is that even possible? Any other suggestions?)
Thanx Philipp
