i have used Kai's earlier version of the tool, the updates he has made make it a great solution. it still bakes all objects out separately, but a ascii file is exported with to help you reconnect them. of course we justed used it to go from animation to lighting within XSI. didn't use it to go between applications. so i can't give any advice on that...
