Merge objects with hair.

Subject : Merge objects with hair.

How do I merge 2 objects, one that has hair on it, so that the new merged object has that hair that’s been tweaked for weeks? We don’t want to have to redo the hair. Any suggestions? I don’t seem to find how to do it.
