There was a toggle in the render options to have mental ray convert all
images to .map on the fly at render time I believe. Not sure if it's there
in 6.

Subject: weird memory error from mental ray
Hi All,
I'm getting a weird mental ray memory error when rendering a scene I'm
working on.
It basically consists of a very large grid - 500x500, with multiple (about
6) high res (some up to 10,000x3000) mapped on. To get it to render I need
to logo out then back in again. Could it be that I need to convert all my
textures to .map files? They're .pics at the moment. As I've never used
.maps before, i don't know if it helps to use them when dealing with
memory issues.
Could anything else cause this?
Thanks
Chris
