I like pic for its small file size but I mostly render in SGI now due to the same reason of compatibility with other software.  Anyone doing a lot of Open EXR rendering?  Anyone doing anything higher than 8bit?

If it's going into Flame then we'll render sgi's as they get pulled in quicker as a native format.
